Dedicated to undergrads out there starting with the first semester and for some, yet another semester commences very soon. Hope you are all excited, but nervous at the same time. Given the resources around you, we are a hundred percent sure that you will be able to simplify your life and let it go as smooth as it can be. Follow these strategies to make your first semester as easy as it can get.

Have a morning/nighttime routine

Routines can be so helpful. They help you know what to do when. Having a morning and nighttime routine helps to be adequately prepared for the day ahead of me. It is recommended that for the first few weeks of using your routine, you have a phone sound an alarm when it was time to move to the next event. It’ll help your mind get aware of the upcoming events and gears you up for it.

Plan by hour

A lot of things slip through the cracks as we do not plan to dedicate time to them. Sometimes, a to-do list is all you need. If you tend to get distracted by using your phone, causing these tasks to expand to a much longer time frame than they need to, you should plan by hour using Google Calendar other applications or even your paper planner. When you plan by an hour, these tasks won’t take longer than they should or seem to be.

SET timelines for assignments and projects

find a place to write down everything you need to do for the project, a place to brainstorm and most importantly, a place to write down the due date! Make a quick checklist where you can write down due dates so that you set dates for yourself for each little step in the in pursuit of the project. Faculties could be really strict with the timeliness of the submission. You would not want to be in the bad books.

put your phone in do not disturb/aeroplane mode

It really helps to restrict the temptation to use your mobile phone during the class and study time. If you have less time to study and are not able to concentrate on the subject, then it’s preferable that you put your phone on ‘Do Not Disturb’ or ‘Aeroplane’ mode so that you can study with full concentration.

Keeping track of your schedule, assignments/projects, and shutting off your phone during class and study time can definitely improve your efficiency. Hope these strategies help make your semester go a little smoother!
